This is me. My name’s Sarah. I’m an actor and director based in Perth, Western Australia.
Here’s my fun bio that makes me happy:
I make theatre, sometimes opera. I’m obsessed with the power of sound. Words and music are my thang. I like Shakespeare best because his words are music. I love acting because it shows us the power of transformation, and I love theatre because it teaches us how to dream big. I want everyone to be risk takers and big dreamers. I’m happiest when my work challenges me and when I’m providing opportunities for others to grow.
Here’s my serious bio for bragging:
Sarah is an Australian actor, director and youth arts specialist. Recent directing credits include the WA premiere of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena for Operabox in 2015, and Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel in 2014. Recently she ventured into directing choral performance with Spin for Voyces choral ensemble. Her interest in Shakespeare culminated in two adaptations for young people, All’s Well that Ends Well (2012) and R&J (2013), both with sell-out Fringe World seasons. Perth Now declared All’s Well, “an exciting and inventive take on Shakespeare’s classic”.
As an actor, Sarah has performed at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Blue Room Theatre, and Perth Concert Hall, and featured as Elaine Lamb in the TV miniseries of Tim Winton’s Cloudstreet. She has built a robust reputation in Western Australia as an independent theatre-maker, bringing a blend of fresh ideas and a physical, collaborative approach to each theatre process.
Please drop me a line if you have questions about acting! Or about anything really.
